Smartcard Support
In an increasingly digital world it becomes more and more important to verify the genuineness of documents. In order to make the digital signature as acceptable for electronic transactions as real signatures in the real world, an infrastructure is set up where certificates are issued and verified.
In such a public key infrastructure (PKI), employees of an organization usually receive chip cards bearing the certificates. In many cases, a smartcard does not only serve as a corporate ID but, just to give an example, also for log-in purposes in IT systems. But applying for smartcards, activating or locking them is often an unsecured or expensive procedure.
VOICETRUST’s Smartcard Support is a reliable and easy-to-implement solution for authentication. The voice verification closes the leak in the chain of trust in an inexpensive and secure way. Neither new client software nor additional hardware is required, because the existing telephone infrastructure can be used. VOICETRUST also takes care of routine tasks in smartcard support. Manipulation is impossible and costs are reduced:
- initializing and activating smartcards
- temporarily locking smartcards when left at home
- locking a lost or damaged smartcard and applying for a new one and reseiving temporary access by username and password
- administrating lists with PIN/TAN numbers for areas without smartcard reader
- authenticating at the smartcard help-desk for further assistance
