Voice Authentication for Efficient PKI Solutions
PKI solutions are used worldwide for secure encryption of data and signatures. A crucial weakness of these solutions, however, is the administration of private keys, which are normally stored on SmartCards.

Applications for, as well as the activation and temporary or permanent deactivation of, the certificate or SmartCard are normally managed via password mechanisms. However, these are neither secure nor convenient. To make matters worse, they are also expensive.
VOICE.TRUST AG, with the VOICE.TRUST server, provides a powerful tool for PKI-solution user authentication. Reliable authentication via voice verification makes for an unbroken chain of trust while opening up new business-process options.
Using the existing telephone infrastructure, meaning no additional user-side hard- or software, VOICE.TRUST permits automation of frequently repeated processes. This dramatically reduces costs, increasing security at the same time.

The VOICE.TRUST Server manages it all automatically:
- activation of SmartCards,
- help desk authentication,
- new applications (due to loss or damage),
- suspending (temporary deactivation - SmartCard forgotten),
- reactivation of temporarily deactivated SmartCards
- virtual SmartCards (i.e. with PIN/TAN lists when no SmartCard reader is provided).
This means that the help desk can breathe a big sigh of relief because countless manipulation attempts are being blocked.
